An event at East Grinstead mainline station; I’m sure the next issue of The Bluebell Times will have a report.

I like the fact they've left the owner's name on the front in case it gets forgotten...

That's for when it arrives at Victoria so they know where to send it back ;)

Guessing that a possession was taken of the Down(?) platform, possibly with a Southern unit at the North end to act as a barrier vehicle, scotch and clip the headshunt points and that creates a defined space the O1 could operate in past the boundary.

    Regards,

    Dan

"Dear sirs, we attach one (1) infernal smoking thing found sullying our nice clean Victoria Station. We could not work out how to reboot it, so we have sent it back."

Good to see 65 have a little venture into the mainline, although hopefully East Grinstead's footbridge is better constructed than Haywards Heath's one, which has a tendancy to leak!

That new footbridge would look splendid in LBSCR or SR colours...

Yes- there's a definite nod towards the old Myres covered footbridges there. Certainly better than what it replaced.

Latest update on Fenchurch's overhaul shows the locomotive beginning to look the part. The most recent edition of "Brighton Matters" shows Stroudley brake 3rd no. 949 inching ever closer to completion. When these 2 are outshopped, they really should be inseparable, and a tangible connection to the Brighton suburban system of the later Victorian years. 72_reassembly_davidlilley_29aug22a.jpg

Based on the email group expect lots of complaints about "secrecy" when you report the event Tom.

Bluebell is not brilliant keeping members informed. Already the unofficial apologisers have been busy saying why no info to members.

The Facebook page and Weekly newsletter have posted a teaser for the 2nd visitor for Giants of Steam in the last few days.

The visiting loco is hidden behind a background, with a visiting loco announcement coming soon, although a carriage behind the loco is shown. Most of guesses based on location of the photo and carriage suggest it could be 76017 from the MHR.
