I wonder if there is a lot of speed restrictions today? I tried to second guess it and be clever and went for bridge just after Egham but she shut off before there as well, before opening up as seen in video above from round the corner!

Very Happy that 6233 has been called upon to do the British Pullmans. I think that last guest locomotive was 60009(Winter 2019/2020)

It isn’t as gauge friendly as a MN. Lost time standing at Swindon (Didcot strike again) but did the turning move quickly and was in Bristol East Yard early.

We were out of our pathway due to waiting the road at Victoria, then signalling issues on the Hounslow loop. That put us behind the Waterloo to Weybridge service, we caught it up at Egham. Hence our slow progress where you were.

We had issue with the 'baffle plate' just after leaving Challow. The other chaps on the footplate were struggling to rectify the problem whilst we moving, I eased the loco right up, but they still struggled. So I called the signaller up to ask for us to be put out the way of other traffic while we sorted it. We deduced a short stop, without draw on the fire was the best option. That's what we asked for, and we were ready after just a couple of minutes. However, once again, we were out of our pathway.

Nice to hear from someone at quite literally at the sharp end of operations before the froth goes into overdrive.
I do like 35028’s new livery as well btw ;):)

I think that was the same problem that held 6233 up at Totnes at the weekend?

Duchess putting on a great show through Barnes Bridge on todays Belmond. Took some family to go see her and we then headed straight to The Mall after to see the Queens Procession to Westminster Hall. A rather suitable change of motive power for the days events one might say?

The new metal fence at Sydney Gardens is about five feet high resting on top of the stonework, I don't think is possible to take photos with a telephoto or zoom lens, unless you have a step ladder with at least three rungs. I couldn't get a good foothold on the stone balustrade, so I gave up and went back to the bridge. A small camera or phone may still get shots of trains passing through the cutting.

One chap did bring a ladder with him and was able to get the shot of the engine as it emerged out of the tunnel into the cutting.

Maybe, but they could have done the decent thing and put a wreath on the front of the loco.

Perhaps. Belmond has made an appropriate comment on its web site.

Or could it be with the demand for floral tributes at the moment they were unable to source one?

The smokebox door wreaths are normally not real flowers, LSL and some of the heritage lines managed. I’m sure there’s a wreath somewhere at Stewart’s Lane if they wanted it.

What about the one that Clan Line has worn for Christmas and trips like the John Farrow Salute? Granted its on a southern disc but is it not kept at the Lane?
