    Watching "Look East" tonight it seems that National Highways have agreed to provide funding to remove Wansford Road station (on the former Stamford to Wansford branch) from its position right in the path of the proposed A47 dualling and relocate it to Railworld adjacent to Peterborough Nene Valley.

    I’ve seen something about this on another forum, My own opinion is I hope it happens, The Nene Valley could well do with a decent facility at Peterborough.

    It reminds me of the brick-by-brick move of the Fletton Goods booking office all those years ago - which became Overton station.

    It's excellent news. Will be a great improvement of Peterborough Nene Valley station. Now all we need is the original Wansford station to be refurbished.

    Of course, if I won the Euromillions I'd want to re-open the line between Wansford and Stamford... :D

    Danish F Class no. 656 has steamed again at Wansford for the first time since the early 80's.

    The official steam test is due next week, and there are still a few finishing off and fettling jobs, but the end of a long, drawn out overhaul is nigh!

    Thems two red and one white .... the colours of the Danish flag, which once adorned the chimney of every Danish loco, but not as obvious in old monochrome images. :)

    No, I think Steve's referring to the pressure gauge: between the red lines = good, past the yellow line = run away?

    Right. I noticed the gauge too. kg/ □cm seems a bit like a metric version of 'old hay truss per hobbit'*, but an "OK ... Run" line makes sense in any language. What an absolutely charming little loco. :)

    * that's respectivy 4 st and 2½ bushels .... so there!

    The yellow line is ~ 210 psi, between the red lines is ~150 psi.

    Red is the optimal operating pressure, pink is the pressure the safety valves lift and the yellow is the hydraulic test pressure

    The dial of this particular gauge was re-made by specialists. They did a superb job of copying the original, except that the rather gay pink line was originally black.
