Ah, but is it the proper livery, IIRC RSG was not a Finsbury Park machine so why is it wearing the FP 'trademark'? (white cab window surrounds).
But it does look the dogs danglies. There's a lot of work and money gone into it and I thank ALL the people responsible. Get Tulyar back into action and we'll have 4 of them.

They ALL had the (off) white window surround, not just the 34G ones. D9011 The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers for instance, spent the entire 20 years of its life as a Gateshead loco, yet it is pictured in my 1965 combine in two-tone green with off white window surrounds. I cant recall seeing one in green that didn't have them, whether from London, Gateshead or Edinburgh allocations.

It has been quite interesting to compare the responses to a diesel hauled train running with much class 47 assistance, to similar on here with steam being pushed about.

I didn't know that, I thought I'd read somewhere that the white surrounds was a Finsbury Park thing. Apologies.

Think the white cab surrounds were more a thing in the BR blue era.

Pondering the previous livery comments :-
    this from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_55
"The Deltics had arrived from the manufacturer painted in two-tone green, the dark BR green on top, with a narrower strip of a lighter, lime green along the bottom. This helped to disguise the bulk of the locomotive body. The cab window surrounds were picked out in cream-white. Although delivered without it, they all soon sported the bright yellow warning panel at each end common to all British diesel and electric locomotives, to make them more conspicuous."

Not sure I'd describe the Class 47 middle panel as lime green.
It seems that as delivered the Hymeks also had the lower lime green panel and white(ish) window surrounds.

On the contrary, some TOCs must like them as they use them a lot.

I see LSL have cancelled the two remaining advertised Deltic tours.

They say more work is needed to make it robust enough for regular railtour work, or words to that effect.

Reckon I was lucky on Saturday :)

Off to Barrow Hill for a p/u lift, and new bearing shells required, to affect a repair.
Does not sound either easy or cheap.

The expertise for something rather complicated like that is there though, although as you say it’s not going to be easy or cheap.

I am positive that Martin Walker passed over a host of re-manufactured bearing shells he had done as spares.

If it is a contract repair by the DPS, everyone wins.

Oh absolutely Guy, how do I put this, those people at the DPS aren’t exactly amateurs are they?
Nothing against those who’ve done 55022’s recent overhaul, but I’m sure a little chat with those in charge of 9, 15 and 19 wouldn’t have gone amiss would it?
