    40 or so years ago I drove our Plasser 05 on to a low loader, and off again at Plasser's (and repeated when it was repared). Needless to say I didn't rush it! :D

    I saw that video on n.g. enthusiasts this morning and couldn't believe it. Skillful, and with big cajones, .... but absolutely crackers! I've driven steam rollers onto low loaders plenty of times but I wouldn't do it with a steam loco. A winch might be a few minutes slower but a damn sight safer.

    No I do not currently volunteer
    The most 'Frightening' roadsteam journey that I've driven was the perhaps 35 feet of loading a traction engine under steam, I'd definitely either drive to an event or not attend in preferrence to low loading.
