If it goes anything like the Jinty or Crab, then it truly will be a 10 year overhaul. I wonder what they will buy next to replace at and kick the ball down the line......

Is there any news on the crab or Jinty?

The crab didn't seem to run for very long in its last period in traffic?

For a well established line, the ELR doesn't seem to have a very large or consistent fleet.

It was also the last appearance of the Collett 5600 class loco 5643
So that will be 2 of there regular locos unavailabe soon

 

The usual amazingly uninformed comments here. Is it any wonder that so few of the people who keep these lines and memories going for little or no reward bother to read the absolute rubbish posted on here, they just get on with it.

They do it for the same reason as all the others involved in heritage railways - self gratification, mostly. Therefore the comments of others, however ill-informed, tend to be of little consequence. However..... it seems like a very long time since either the Crab or Jinty was in steam at the ELR! i for one would love to know how long it was in reality, and how much longer it is expected to be before they are back!
