How did it get from Carnforth to Haverthwaite? Was it before the line was severed from the network?

One that occurs to me is NER 2-2-4T No 66 Aerolite. It was withdrawn in 1933 and as far as I know has been in York ever since. Happy to be corrected on this if I am wrong.

How did it get from the old York museum to the new? Memory is now faded but I don’t think Queen Street was actually rail connected. The locos were on individual lengths of track.

It wasn't Steve but a connection was put in for the transfer. I missed Aerolite's move but saw some of the others. Here is the move of the two GN Atlantics and 1621 in early Nov. '74

I'd take 75027 off the list. It arrived at Sheffield Park by road in early 1969. Like @Steve I also doubt that 42073 arrived at Haverthwaite by rail as I think the Lakeside branch was severed by then.

The Lakeside branch was severed in June 71, the items stored at Carnforth and some coaches purchased from BR at york were delivered by rail before this happened

2 of the Rheidol tanks qualify I think (can’t remember which one ran at Brecon). What about Countess from the W&L? It returned from Oswestry by rail, has it been anywhere since then?

42073 arrived at Haverthwaite by rail on "The Lakeside & Haverthwaite Harbinger" along with other stock from Carnforth "before" the branch was severed. I'm sorry can't remember the date as it was just before I was involved there.

I don’t think the double engines, Taliesin and Blanche have been anywhere, but Prince, Palmerston, Linda and Lyd along with Lilla, Mountaineer and Britomart have all made visits via lorry.

What about Leader, Melior and Triumph at Sittingbourne? Have they been anywhere?

Didn’t it also go to Carnforth at some point in the eighties for an overhaul as well?

6201 Princess Elizabeth might qualify and 5043 as the latter was an early departure from Barry?

6201 was moved from Butterley to Tyseley and Bury in the late 90s for overhaul.

Would the Bouch 0-6-0 1275 be another one? Has that ever been anywhere other than York since preservation?
