Yes 19 was also bought by the same group but things changed and was sold on. By that time I was away from Buxton and out of the loop until as a shareholder I was told of the sale.
Here is 14 at Buxton. Not my picture

Yes, I believe I have an image taken at Buxton and MRC of 92214. She was at Buxton on 1st June 1984 and on 4th July 1987, both 14 and 19 were there. Notes from May 1993 have 14 and 19 at MRC but not sure when the move from Buxton took place?

I can't be certain of the dates. My brother Dave lived onsite in one of the sleeping cars for some of that time and would know the various movements. I was there about once per month from '83 onwards.

I thought that 92214 went to the NYMR to be finished and then Mr Gregory purchased it around 2016? and it came to the GCR.

That was 92134. 92214 was restored at Butterley.

Actually, 92214 was bought by Grosmont based PV Premier Ltd, a company owned by Stuart Whitter who had been a GCR driver coincidentally, in 2010.

Following this sale 92214 was then based at the NYMR, saw out it’s ticket there and was subsequently overhauled at the NYMR and then ran for around 6 months as part of the fleet before Stuart decided to sell it at which point it was bought by Michael Gregory for use on the GCR which it moved to in early 2014, so @Flying Phil is half right in that it did come from the NYMR to the GCR and although as @std tank says it’s wasn’t restored there it did in fact have it’s overhaul at the NYMR.

It is noticeable that the various nameplate holes appear to have been filled.

92214 will be out on the GCR on June 17th doing its designed job - hauling a long freight train.
A combination of Windcutter 16T minerals, the vans and mixed goods are being joined together to form a 50 wagon train for a one off run to celebrate 50 years of running on the preserved main line that is the GCR, 50@50!
More details on the GCR website.

92214 had been allowed to get dirty for the Railways at Work Gala and it is now in a suitably "weathered" condition.

Still not quite as grubby as the one I saw at Leicester around 1962 11_19_24_scan111846844.jpg ....

As 92214 is scheduled to go to the NYMR for their 50th Gala in a few days time, I wonder if it will be cleaned or will it stay weathered?

Interesting - I received an email today from the shed staff, requesting that if any cleaners were available this weekend could they come down and clean the loco!

    Some wires crossed somewhere?

Thanks for posting black5 - gorgeous winter colours and a slightly work stained 9F on the Windcutters - it makes the efforts of so many people over the past 50 years of the GCR so worthwhile.

Here is another picture from a photo charter, although renumbered as 92000, (Taken by Gavin Thomson, click to view).
The locomotive has now been withdrawn for it's 10 year overhaul, but will remain complete for the time being.
