Any updates on the railway? Super exciting year especially Abergwili!

Reading some of the other threads some other railways have really struggled this year, but it seems from what i have read and my visits the gwili has had one of its best years in its history! I really think because of abergwili, the car park and better location next year will be a cracker too!

    hi Tom

I wouldn’t say it was all plain sailing but overall yes it’s been a good year for the railway in 2022 with decent passenger numbers and we obviously laid a marker down with our long-standing development plans with the work at the site at Abergwili. Should be a fair bit to report in the next few weeks and months, at the moment work is continuing on Haulwen in the loco shed, the TCL is in the carriage shop and general work underway ready to move some of our passenger facilities from Bronwydd to Abergwili.

    regards

    Matt

Great to hear nobody or rolling stock damaged! Probably a headache the railway could have done without right now, but glad everyone safe and wishing you all a quick recovery to normality!

With grateful thanks to Quattro we have acquired a new Road Rail Vehicle which will be invaluable for work at Abergwili Junction and along the line.

    regards

    Hi Matt,

Will the railway be selling rhodri, or will it have the luxury of two road rail vehicles going forward? Together with selwyn that seems to offer some serious capabilities!

Looking at the fire reporting it says "engine shed" but from the photo (from the field side) it looks like it was in the old workshop/office - with the new engine shed just in shot on the right of the photo un-touched... really sad to see but hopefully you'll come back bigger and better.
Any truth in the rumour that this might be Dewi 's doing, looking for space for yet another C&W workshop?;)
    Best wishes from this exile.
    Alan

Do you think a gala with a renumbering to a 74xx could be on the cards? As these were ubiquitous out of carmarthen, to Newcastle Emlyn.

It's amazing the variety over the last few years - l92, the small prairie, 1369 and now another reason to make a visit this year!

Yes, after having either Haulwen or Welsh Guardsman working most services between them for the last 20 years we have been spoiled a bit in the last 18 months which is great. Not forgetting Moorbarrow as well.

the 74xx tanks were mainly seen on the Aberaeron branch so a posed photo outside Aberaeron signal box or Felinfach station building may be on the cards!

    regards

Do you think that people might notice that all 74xx were black in B.R. days and 6430 is in lined green???
