Oh now, come on! Do we really need to see another BP go to another SR railway it's too big for?
Why don't you just start with something smaller?

They did. . . . in 1974. They may have built it up a bit since then. ;):D

I thought the 01 looked big when it visited from the Bluebell in 2009. A Spamcam will look massive on a true branch line. Would I go possibly, but only the once, although it is a long way from Swanage, but I am a fan of the loco. Guess they will need to ensure they have a crossing keeper for Cranbrook Road, as on low days I have seen the footplate crew operate the gates. Be a challenge restarting a Bulleid on a damp day on that bank. Mind you may make for good video.

Basically you have a massive engine on what is a light railway, surely it is going to cause no end of trouble for p-way staff and railway structures.

If you wanted something big [and/or practical] then a Maunsell Mogul or a BR 4 Tank would be better.
    Powerful but light and economical.

The axle load on all three types is about the same - 18 tons.

From what I have seen, mainline express trains, perhaps the minimal amount of freight working the SR had, but mainly express trains and dining trains.

Let's not go too far..... :p
I think it's a Hunslet Austerity that's the final visitor for the event, probably Jessie.
It did wonders at the Severn Valley, now let's see it tackle Sharpthorne bank!!:eek:

Jessie isn’t an Austerity but an 18” Hunslet design.

The other problem with Jessie is that it’s currently in lots of pieces at the Flour Mill undergoing its 10 yearly overhaul ;)
