If anyone has either, and if there's any news concerning this aspect, could they post on here?

I (and I'm just a member, no more than that) would really rather that they didn't yet. I want to read what's out there, and apparently there is something out there, before it gets filtered through partial quoting. I'd rather there were a couple of days grace for us members to see it first.

I realise that's almost certainly a hopeless request!

But I've already seen a lot of the response to it around the bazaars, and I haven't even seen *it*.

I received the newsletter yesterday, there could be a slight glimmer of hope but it would seem it is very very small, the S73 application has been withdrawn though

Exactly - maybe there is something in the newsletter [which I have yet to receive] - but if you make a statement you ought to quote the source.

I didn't even receive the last newsletter, so I wonder whether I'll be able to find out any more than is on the first page of the new one (on Fbook)?? ;)

..which brings me back to the issue of WHY things such as the Newsletter are not sent to members by e-(mail) if they have it and put on the members-only webpage for us all to read. Instant communication and less scope for rumours etc.
Needless to say, not got mine yet...:-(

In 1558 reputedly Queen Mary famously remarked that "when I am dead and opened, you shall find Calais engraved on my heart". I wonder for how many Trustees the word 'Parracombe' will achieve similar significance?

Unfortunately I read this part the wrong way around, there was the possibility of a delegated decision but it carried a high risk of refusal.
The trustees have therefore unanimously agreed to withdraw the S73 applications following professional advice

That intrigues me. A 'high risk of refusal' implies a low, but potential, chance of approval, so why not go for that as a 'last resort'? Perhaps because any such refusal would hinder any possible subsequent re-application? It would be nice to learn in due course what the professional advice actual said, but I doubt that will be disclosed.
So.....where, when and how does the L&BR go next?

A refusal could have been appealed. However, we had a Planning application which was likely to be refused and were advised to withdraw the application rather than have a refusal on our planning history

Unfortunate situation .... But learn from situation and discuss situation and then move on with a new revised Planning - especially if Grampian provisions are now not applicable....

The newsletter, which has just arrived here in Grantham, specifically states that this is "to avoid a refusal on the project planning record that could impede future planning applications".

Is the EA website map up to date? Quite a few parcels of land to buy (c.20 but of widely differing sizes).
What's the total length of Wist - Chelfham? (Too much adding up to do using that map!!)

Oh. I've just realised you're already using them.

It doesn't really! I was referring to that map when I said it's way too much hassle to add up some 20+ measurements in metres. There must surely be totals between the various stations somewhere?
