Someone has posted a photo of said newsletter on the L&BR Facebook page so you can read it

only the front page - which goes back to my concern about partial quoting (not you), that article has barely got into its stride by the time it runs out of page. So very little context.

As you'll know, the unofficial L&B facebook group, on which it has been posted, has turned off commenting on any of this subject until more people have had a chance to read the actual document (which, as I wished for above, I totally agree with but it is a coincidence!)

As far as I know this is still on going. However in order not to spook anyone there is already an issue with at least one owner down there. Which to be clear about happen many years ago
But those I have spoken too, tell me that now is not the time to be thinking about this but to some how ride out the coming storm and then regroup afterwards. It is very likely that the whole project could look totally different afterwards, but who knows?

That's interesting as the whole thing could be read at one point.

Is it a case of being completely back to square one with all permissions for the extension expired? That is surely a resignation worthy situation for Trustees and management?

the interesting thing here is that the magazine/newsletter always arrives over a period of up to 4 days after news of the first one landing and various people have commented on its contents from day 1 ,comments on posts haven't previously been removed or the ability to comment turned off, the rough has to be taken with the smooth and these actions are also viewed as negative by a lot of people as its seen to be a form of control and censorship, maybe its hoped by admin that by doing these actions people will eventually not bother and the issue at hand will eventually disappear

the planning doesn't actually run out until 07/03/2023, after that date it seems that's it, apparently all the documentation can still be used for any further planning application although depending on the time scale of another application there may be a requirement to update those documents so not quite square one but not far off, as for the second part of your comment who knows what will happen!

But will people still be willing to invest ? this all costs serious money and as some would say once bitten twice shy, there has been 5 years to make something of this , who knows what the fall out from this could be

My thoughts exactly - The documents will be fairly up to date. Still waiting for my newsletter and I don't wish to comment further until I have read it.

We don't know the full story yet, but are there willing, and more importantly, capable people ready to join the board if required? It's very easy to call for resignations, it's less easy to fill the vacuum and take a step forward.

I assume you are referring to Facebook as I'm not aware of any posts on nat-pres being removed.
I would agree that posts should not be removed and the trustees should be publicly explaining their actions and thinking

He is referring to facebook. It was the unofficial facebook page - so the removal of the posts is NOTHING to do with the trustees.

Andy - could you scan the second page of newsletter so we can read the full story? The last newsletter never made it here so I don't know if I'll ever be able to read it! Thanks :)

That is something of a non-sequitur. Just because the FB group is described as unofficial does not infer that the removal (or inclusion) of any particular post is nothing to do with the trustees!

Having just received my newsletter I am obviously disappointed that the progress has stalled ....for the time being. But I am satisfied that a lot of people have spent a lot of time in trying to obtain permission to extend the railway. That a few others are being so obstructive is I'm afraid the nature of a functioning civil society.
We know that it is not going to be easy or quick (unfortunately) but the L & B will slowly and steadily become an even better jewel in the N Devon crown - for the benefit of a large number of local people and the delight of many thousands of visitors.

Possibly just a bit of 'wishful thinking', but...

If, as the Newsletter states, there was an agreement with the ENPA which failed to meet its target in part at least due to delays within the ENPA and alleged 'proscrastination', then are there not any grounds to request ENPA to grant an extension of time? After all, the reinstatement of the L&BR forms part of the ENPA Local Plan, so surely they should look favourable on facilitating anything which can help towards the fulfilment of that Plan ?
