I don't think I have ever used the expression here. Time to cease this exchange.

Had an interesting conversation with an old manager/owner about this, no notice’s up about CCTV and your admitting to not only watching myself but several female members of staff on camera, how does voyerism sound as a charge against you?

I’ve seen one situation where the app is unsecured, and anyone with it can then access the images completely uncontrolled. Very easy to operate for a volunteer based organisation where people aren’t on site, but also very open to misuse given the legal and regulatory regime.

Also perfectly soluble, but requires active planning in a way that “you can only look on this site” does not.

Plenty of cameras watching you/us on the Big Railway - in each and every carriage on modern units. I don't have a problem as I'm not doing anything I shouldn't be. If it prevents or reduces crime then so be it.

I've known front door locks that could be opened with a credit card. That doesn't mean it's pointless locking your front door, merely that you should fit a decent lock and not one like that.

Tender T2061 for 7828 Odney Manor.

    Item 1.
Recently we have been bolting on minor pipe brackets and making brake gear pins etc.

One job that we knew was coming was to fit part if the mechanism for the water scoop locking mechanism. This part is a vertical rod that detects when the scoop is in the raised position and interlocks with a latch to that only allows the operating handle to be locked when the scoop is correctly stowed. A few months ago we realised that this 5 foot long rod could only be fitted from underneath, that it required a pit to do so, and that the pit had to be outside the "down side" rail and not between the rails.

We realised that there are only two locations on the WSR that had a two foot deep void immediately outside any rail. One was on the new river bridge at Williton, 10 miles away and a rather wet working environment. The other was to use one of the servicing & inspection pits for the turntable at Minehead. By mid-March sufficient coaching stock was back in service rather than being in the sidings so access to the turntable was possible.

We shunted the tender over to the turntable and having the required part of the tender over the inspection pit we fed the offending rod up through the holes in the front drag box and bolted it in place behind the scoop operating handle.

Whilst on the turntable I took a couple of photographs, here's the best one.

    Item 2.
Last week the regular four workers decided that we were ahead of schedule on the work programme to get T2061 back into service, so we could give ourselves a "works outing" as a reward.

Following a vote on the options we had a day out to see a bit of someone else's riveting on the hull of the SS Great Britain at Bristol. An enjoyable day was had by all inspecting the ship, followed by a pub lunch and a train ride back to Taunton.

Here we all are in the dry dock. If our rivets last 180 years like most of these have we won't have done too badly.

I think you have the wrong WSR thread here. Can it be transferred to the correct one and can the two threads be kept seperate please.

    Thanks in anticipation

Thanks Keith. Never used that button before but I've just done it. Wether the mods will agree or not I have no idea but I felt it was a suggestion worth making.

Mods, please feel free to move it. It's a WSR-related post in the WSR thread, but I hadn't spotted the other thread when I posted it.

Yes that’s the best route and I have moved the post to the correct thread. The reason it’s preferred is that there is no guarantee that a moderator will read the thread, it’s simply not feasible for us to read every single post on the forum but the report button sends the moderation team an alert to draw our attention, which is usually the first thing I look at when I come on the forum each time.

Happy to respond to 61264's question but where have the posts gone to?
