Currently hasn't moved on RTT from Conington South - have heard mention of engine trouble

 

Leaning to the curve at Arlesey.
Hearing reports of a coolant problem causing a shutdown of one engine. 24 late at Peterborough.

Seems to be moving, just passed Peterborough on OTT.

 

Looking the absolute business.

Running fine and making up time now according to RTT.

The level crossing I usually go to (King Street) was incredibly busy today with photographers - I've seen fewer turn out for steam and in fact I went elsewhere. What did disappoint me was once 9000 passed I began putting the camera away... when the "Swallow"-liveried 91+Mk.4 set passed in the opposite direction

 

Now turned in at Grantham p4, recouped some time on the Fast up Stoke but lost and now looped to let other services through

 

I think it was originally scheduled to do that outside Stoke Tunnel though?

 

Yes - but not the second one to be let past. And it is now blocking the one platform road available for the Norwich services, which is leaving the bobby with the unenviable choice of letting her out on one engine directly in front of an IEP, or blocking up the down ECML completely.

 

Is that LSL's ScotRail push-pull set behind it?

 

Yes.

 

I noted the 90 at the back was indeed named Royal Scot. Is the modified Mk. 1 at the back a generator car?
