I saw a photo the other day on Twitter of a 66 (66131) having a spin on the turntable...

From RTT looks like a decent westbound run. Looked good running through the 4 Dawlish and Teignmouth Cams. Saltash is a good and new free Cam too. Hope someone posts timings and speeds.

Looking at some videos from today of 60103 it certainly brought out the idiots especially on station platforms sadly.

It is not just with Scotsman that the idiots assemble. At Alton yesterday waiting for 4079 to arrive with her first run of the day a guy told his two kids to sit down out of the way of the photographers. So the kids went and sat down on the platform in front of everyone. Unbelievably they sat right at the edge of the platform. The boy sat crossed legged with his legs sticking out over the edge and proceeded to fiddle with his phone. His younger sister had to tell him to move back while his father said nothing.

That’s half of the problem parent wise sadly. A few years back at Oxenholme a bloke was asked by the station staff to please stand back behind the yellow line with his young boy but was given a load of abuse sadly.

The station platforms of 7/ 8 at Plymouth was closed to everyone except those travelling on the train. The same at Par, unless you had a valid travel ticket you weren't allowed on the platforms, then only if your train was a few minutes away.

Looks like quite the crowd along the sea wall. This video I found from Teignmouth shows a crowd 5 rows thick along the entire length of the wall! Plenty of idiots even sitting on the edge with legs dangling over, other people holding kids up to lean over. Massive media hyping I think.

What idiots? That crowd were all in a place of safety and looked well behaved to me. Those on the wall were well away from the running line and were sat on a wide enough base to render it unlikely that they would fall off. They look much safer to me than the crowds you sometimes see inside the railway fence at foot crossings and the like. Why criticize the media hype as you call it when it is promoting the cause of steam which needs all the friends it can get.

    An unnecessary comment IMHO.

Watching the filming from yesterday it looked an excellent run all day for a Class 7 with 9. Been sent 33.1 into Dainton westbound. Hemerdon looked to have been topped in the mid to high 20s. FS sounded 'right'. Kudos to Mr Riley and his team. Hope more timings and speeds get posted. A report would be nice.
