I'd say 14+ classes with loco build dates from 1958 to whenever and the loco that started it is a lot. The obvious omissions are (a) guests in classes up to 55 and (b) a DMU of some sort. Let's be patient and see what's announced

True, though I'm not even 30 yet and much prefer the older stuff.

Likely to be withdrawn before end of the year, by next year the only mainline HSTs will be in Scotland.

Fair enough but It really isn’t something that would motivate myself to get out of bed on a Saturday morning for. If people are interested though what do I Know?

Can't say it excites me, but the novelty value is a bit of a draw, plus knowing the dear old HST is on borrowed time..won't be many more opportunities.

DfT have agreed to some GWR Castles being extended to December 2024 (with a suspicion it will be May 2025). ROSCo owned ones will be returned, the ones staying will come from the GWR-owned examples. From memory five sets will be retained, with four in service.

Aslef in Scotland have been making noises about putting a deadline on driving their fleet unless replacements are authorised and ordered.
