True, does anyone know if 926, 825 or 5428 are likely to be available next week?

Thanks for the reply, we’re staying in Scarborough next week - is it likely/possible if 5428 becomes available then it would run Grosmont - Whitby?

No current plan but if 5428’s paperwork arrives it may see use between Grosmont & Whitby.

The 31 failed yesterday afternoon on leaving Levisham with the 16.15 from Pickering. After crawling for a bit and the crew struggling to get it going, it sat down in the bit by the Platelayer Cottages. After a while, permission was granted for the 31 to set back to Levisham, where after a bit of a wait I was able to catch the 37 back to Pickering (having planned to swapped over at Goathland). Posts on FB state that the 08 was used to take the 31 and its set to Grosmont.

31 failed just after leaving Levisham , we set back to levisham . Fitter came out and had a look over, 37264 was sent as assistance, but 31128 dropped its brakes at Goathland outer home after the air dropped. 12139 was then called as 31128 would then be an unfitted loco at the front of the consist which isn't allowed.

I haven't had much luck as a guard this past week

Is there any chance of steam on the Grosmont-Whitby section tomorrow?

Lambton 29 was spotted in steam at Newbridge Tuesday, having worked a one coach ECS from Grosmont.

I think that you might be lucky there. At present it is planned for 5428 to start covering the Grosmont - Whitby trains from tomorrow. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
