You might have missed it but I got quoted it wrong; it was Craig Todd. (Oswald shuffles off to a darkened room!)
    Sorry!

Sorry: I had failed to connect that passage of your report with what I (evidently mis)remembered as a sudden slowing just before Kirby Stephen.

No worries. It's become a bit of a trend on the route of late. Can't see any reason for it. Track seems fine.

Guilty as charged. Was getting ready to jot the time and speed down as we passed mp13 1/4. The bear does the spotting with his minder looking back in case the sighting is better.

E-Tickets for Saturday dropped into our mailbox. Still Appleby as destination. Really am missing the 301. Who said there's a cost of living crisis? 4 Premier Class; 2 First Class; only 1 Standard Class TSO; Standard Class in Buffet and possibly some in the Compartments in the brake. In total, Standard Class would only fill 2 TSOs.
46115 due to haul the train; 9 passenger carrying; 1 kitchen Car. Load as is the norm now, 10+POB.
Fire Risk Status currently Green but could change later in the week if it gets hotter.
Hope it doesn't and we get another proper steam hauled day out. That would make it 4 Saturdays in a row. Not done that for yonks.

The cost of living crisis tends to hit those in employment more. I suspect many of the dining and first passengers will be those with a good pension who probably no longer have a mortgage to worry about.
Hope the fire risk stays low for you, I think you were all lucky with Plymouth where they said on the weather at lunchtime it last rained on May 11.
Not looking good for tours down south unless some rain appears soon.

However, important to note that the rainfall here (S Devon) in the first 9 days of May well exceeded the average for the whole month of May so maybe that will postpone any concerns down here.

The lineside was very green in most places on Saturday. Temperatures aren't that high yet. Nowt we can do about the weather other than don't book much in advance.

Above Penrith at a stand. 37 cut out. Heard restart attempts but still silent.

Pretty sure they didn't have enough on the boiler to restart. Underway after 15 mins.

No so many cars at Salterwath today Steve, looking at that. I'm planning on coming over this week for a bit of fresh.
