Just a heads up as several people have asked me. At the Middleton Railway the NER class H 0-4-0T No.1310 comes to the end of its extended boiler certificate at the end of July. Subject to the usual caveats, it is planned to use the locomotive on the 16th & 23rd of July following which it will be taken out of service and put on display in the Engine House. There are currently no plans to overhaul the locomotive in the medium term so, for those that want to see it in steam, this will be your last chance for a good few years.

Pity Steve. As 1310 would be a most suitable candidate as a gala visitor to the NYMR. Especially on the Whitby services..........:confused::D:Resistanceisfutile:!

I thought there were plans in place for it to be overhauled and operational in time for the S&D anniversary in 2025.

I've heard that there are plans for it to go there. I'm unaware of any plans to overhaul it and be in steam; unless someone foots the bill, that is. I'm only a Trustee of the owning Steam Power Trust 65 so probably one of the last to know.
