At least one other steam loco workshop also did some not-very-good work, as the Patriot people found out.

In the modern world, and especially in a branch of academia, that would be difficult.

Any way, perhaps the NRM stuff is for another thread, moving back to 563, the decision was the correct one, and now we have an working T3 to look forward to, I would imagine it will be soon moving back to Swanage as soon as the transport is ready i would imagine the tender will be the last hold up, but hopefully it won't be much longer before the picture of the T3 at Corfe can be re enacted, but this time with the engine in steam.

Seriously wow, what a fantastic job those involved have done.
I’ve know 2 of my customers that each have family that reside in Corfe… I wonder how hard I can lean on them for a weekend away… ;)

Absolutely , it looks fantastic. Amazed by the skill of that sign writer, especially painting the LSWR crest.

It will the real jewel in the crown of the SR loco fleet. There is a taxi waiting for those on here who have previously suggested it should be painted BR black to ‘blend in’.

Have Swanage organised somewhere for her to live undercover when she isn't operating?

There have been rumours of Swanage engine shed being used. The two issues being the T9 currently resides there, and I don’t think it’s big enough to fit the tender as well.

I think it might be short enough to fit both engine and tender in the shed, the T9 will probably move to Herston works, once the tender off 563 is ready to move, I'm guessing that's going to be the next project to be tackled I wonder if that's going to go into a similar livery to match the T3,

the livery of 563 is stunning wouldnt it be great if the M7 was turned out in the same colours i am sure that would be a great way to bring in more punters LSWR weekend running springs to mind and possibly when S15 499 is ready a LSWR Gala.

That would certainly be a thing to look foreward to, especially if other railways could be involved, I'm ', thinking MHR, and Bluebell, with a grand LSWR line up at Horstead , as no other line really has the space, and you could include static LSWR engines also, such as the well tank, and radial tank, B4
the T3, and M7 and possibly T9, if its overhauled by the time such a thing can be organised ( 2-3 years) could start the gala at Swanage, then be towed in light steam, as one movement, by the 33, to Alton, where they are joined by 499 and 506, for an LSWR Gala,at the MHR, 4 of the engines then continue again with the 33, to East Grinstead, 499, 120 53, 563 for a huge LSWR spectacular joined by possibly 24, 245, plus what else is available it would cost a lot of money, and good will through out the industry to achieve it, but imagine the spectacle,

I understood it is the NRM's call on if the T9 gets overhauled. I thought approval had only been given for a review of what is needed. But maybe I am out of date on that.

I can see the logic of it visiting the Bluebell, maybe even the IoW for novelty value, because they have the vintage coaches to go with it as well as contemporary locos in appropriate liveries, but why the Mid Hants? They have set themselves in a later era and it just doesn't fit their ethos. You might just as well suggest Swanage-Salisbury main line shuttles! (provided you haven't already!).
