I’m sure Paul Weller and his mates wrote a song about that :) very interesting to hear about where it might be based too :)

I agree to a certain extent, but all of us can question the ethics of how we spend our money as ultimately purchasing power holds a lot of influence - I for one would not like to think I was actively supporting child labour or rainforest destruction - although it is very hard to avoid.
In the case of Jeremy Hosking I disagree with him significantly politically, (particularly his funding of 'Reclaim' & support of Lawrence Fox, who is currently in the news once again for all the wrong reasons this week) but I can not fault him in the way he uses his wealth for railway interests.

I didn't know Mr H was into that sort of stuff, as well as brexit and hedge funds. Are Reclaim one of the gangs who trying to infiltrate the National Trust?

Thanks. The best I can say is that I no longer have any pangs of guilt at photting a beautiful Saphos train without being booked on one. Must support the NT Council in the AGM vote, these outside candidates have contrived more plausible CVs than in previous rants.

Some of them are plausible, and some could be good trustees - though I'm not clear what Violet Manners' qualifications are for the role (her childhood home at Belvoir Castle is not the best example of authentic restoration or public access). The issue is the slate, and the way that wedges are being formed.

With the Black 5 in Scotland for the weekend. What will we get on the Lakelander tomorrow. I assume Royal Scot will do the honours. Or could the B1 get a run over Shap and round the coast if it fits.

Seems 45231 is to come back on Monday with support coach and Flora the Railcar in tow.

1Z23 (Lakelander) doesn't appear to have progressed beyond Craven Arms according to RTT.
& the engine movement to Warrington hasn't started.

This on National Rail - disruptions:-

    Description
A broken down train between Hereford and Shrewsbury means that all lines are blocked. Trains between these stations are currently unable to run.

    Disruption is expected until 10:30.

Looks like the charter left about 5 minutes after the incident occurred.

From posts on Facebook it appears the 66 has hit something that has punctured the fuel tank and dumped nearly 500 gallons of diesel on the track.

Yeah speaking from exprience it normally takes about 20/25 to get stuff stopped from movement. Doesn’t sound good though

Just had information saying due to the severity of the delay/incident the Lakelander has been cancelled. Don’t shoot the messenger.
