Thanks. Looking forward to it but will restrict my day to a couple of runs behind the T3 and save the Bulleid until the Spring. Don’t tell the Gricing Owl though!

Modifications that deserve to be retained, or temporary bodges to make it just barely operational at the time?

Looking forward to visiting and riding the trains at the gala tomorrow. Glorious weather today this morning. Hopefully it is a very good money maker!!

Both sets are 4 carrages over the gala so the T3 should perform very well!

Well, if that's your plan, make sure you record the 4-4-0 as 30563 in your notes! :):););)

And, above all, I hope your day goes well, and if you can grab a photo of 30120 as much on its own as possible . . . .

Bryan - first Bulleid run of 2024 was from 12.20 on 1 January - the Gricing Owl

    00.20 would have been better.

Here’s one for @The Gricing Owl

It seems quite busy on the trains I have been on.

As someone who rather enjoyed 2 of their favourite EE Type 3’s go past their office last night in top and tail fashion, can I just say that those 2 4-4-0’s do look rather splendid together.
    Thanks for sharing Tom :)

Yes the trains hauled by 563 which we were on were all full and some standing. Both passenger trains were 4 coaches. 563 just sailed up the climbs reaching line speed with no problem at all. Could easily have managed 5. A superb loco and a credit to all involved with her. Glad I made the effort today.

No. 2x conventional loco hauled sets, one steam heat on the steam diagrams, one dual heat for the 33's.

good evening, just to let you know and anyone who like myself who was travelling up an down on the Winter Warmer today might have seen this.On the timetable handouts at the bottom under the loco photos,it says Don't miss our Spring Steam Gala 22=24th March 2024.there is nothing yet on the website but on the timetable pages those 3 days have gone from grey to white,so watch this space.Oh yes today was a very good day all round including the weather.

Current online timetable also has 'nothing' on those days instead of grey for days they are running but no timetable yet (like all of summer). So looks like we are getting a Steam Gala for 2023!!!

But why so late announcing tho??
This would be the big announcement they talked about last week but said they need more final details to confirm probably.

Due to passenger loadings today the set will be 5 coaches tomorrow.
This will be 563s first public runs with a normal full set.

I do like the loco on the left hand side! And of course I appreciate that an enormous effort has gone into getting 563 back into service - it is clearly a big attraction and is giving a lot of pleasure to very many.

Fantastic to see good reviews and busy on the cams.
Hopefully been more popular than they thought if they need 5 cars tomorrow!

Genuinely do belive they need more mini special events to bring people in. No reason in the future they can't have a mini diesel gala one weekend with both 33s , the 4tc set and the 117. Late September means us diesel fans don't have to wait an entire year to get some proper advertised 33s thrash

No idea. I asked because Rumpole mentioned
and I was simply wondering about the nature of those modifications.
