    It was common in Scotland during BR days; perhaps the problem was staying in Yorkshire where the world does not revolve or evolve.

    Agreed, think I’ve mentioned this before but 44871 always seems to wear the rather larger cab side numbers St Rollox style, so blue backed smokebox and 65J shedcode plates are a nice little touch IMHO.
