Would be a bit awkward if Loco X or Y owners aren’t aware!

If the loco owners aren't aware then you don't have a backup for 6880!

Again how wrong you are. But I’m not going to argue with you. You clearly have no trust in the organisation of the event, and as such you don’t really need to have an input in the conversation.

I refer you to your own post (#121) where you made a comment about not informing the owners of your backup locos.
I never stated that I don't have trust in the SVR organisation, I just thought it would be better for your customers to know what the backup plan is, especially with the previous cancellations.
This is a forum, everyone has a right to express an opinion as long as it is done with courtesy, which I believe I have done.

Maybe read what @2857Harry actually wrote and then consider the connections of the 6880 team to other locos ;)

When I was fresh out of uni, oh so long ago, I bought my first car for the princely sum of £200. It too looked superb. It didn’t take me long to discover it was a bag of mashings under the shiny paint job. It was green, as well. ;)

If you will only go to an event if certain locos are there, then you'll have to wait until the lineup is confirmed. You're not going to make that happen any sooner with all your posts on here, asking for lists of alternatives that haven't yet been confirmed.

    2 weeks and counting.

WSR seem to be announcing the engine soon and wouldn't do this until it was confirmed 6880 would be available.

    Will be an interesting fortnight.

Are we (WSR) announcing the engine though or is it something else?? You'll have to wait and see ;)
