It’s the world’s first Trappist forum. You can think what you like, you just can’t discuss it with anyone. (Oh, and you are allowed to drink beer …)

That elsewhere could be some of their own and maybe a couple from Riviera so does that satisfy the query?

Hardly a definitive answer is it?

Not yet - and time will tell. But when one of the major diesel tour operators couldn't run a planned weekend event due to stock unavailability, curiosity about the impact is inevitable.

For all the bravado of not running until the ORR allows an exemption, all the charm offensive through the Press and TV , you would like to have been a fly on the wall for the conversations that were taking place in the background . We can argue that some sense has prevailed , and whether the sight of LSL stock ready to take over operations if possible might have focused minds on greater costs we will never know

that said , a rake of CDL fitted stock running the Jacobite you could argue sets a precedent that may make any exemption less likely

Mind said that will be £1100, for a new denture that currently I can only wear if I do not eat. Still improvement on when it was delivered and it even hurt to drink.:(

If I’d been a betting man it would definitely have been a king size one but you can’t get them anymore:(

    Sadly, no. Dropped in 2021.

    I really liked them too.

My take is that to do what WCR were doing last year they needed the NB rake, a rake based at Southall, a rake based at Carnforth and two half rakes at Fort William. At the moment they can run the NB, the morning Jacobite and one English train, using a pool of four locos with air braking, only one of which they own. So as it stands today, WCR's peak season capacity has probably been reduced by a third. Assuming no further exemption is granted, the next crunch will come in the summer when we find out whether the aircon on the Mk2s is really reliable enough for warm (25 degrees outside) weather.

There is no chaos caused by the passengers on the train, they don’t have the time to leave the station. The chaos is from those wanting to see it cross the viaduct, in high season if you aren’t there by 09.00 there will be nowhere to park the car despite the new community car park opened a few years ago.

Sorry where did I say rail passengers were causing the chaos?
Although at a stretch you could argue if they did not want to travel then the train would not need to operate, so maybe a very tenuous link to them being responsible now you have made me think about it. On which basis we could blame JKR as well:)
