Rother Valley Railway

I'd like to think that they are aware how foolish that would look, particularly harking back to the inspector's pointed comment about "vexatious" objections.
Plus, familiarity tends to be a great emollient.

 

What could they actually do, the line will be fenced, and if they try to obstruct the railway, that's trespass, and the police will move them on, I bet the farmers won't like them trespassing on their land either, I would hope that by the time the actual line is rebuilt, that raw feelings may have healed a bit, but there will always be those who will not want to move on, All the railway can do is to be grown up about it, and be a good neighbour about it.

Yes having read the magazine and lived at Robertsbridge for 10 years I wondered if the author actually knew where he was

 

I wonder whether the confusion arises because the part of the RVR at Robertsbridge is know as RVR West and the part by Junction Road is RVR East. However the flood defences and new fencing are definitely East of North Bridge Street/The Clappers.

to be honest, I didn't like it; or at leat the intro. The banner headline across all the shots made it very hard to watch and the takes were too short to really take in. They don't want to be long but do need to be long enough to take in what they are about.

Britannia's visit has received universal support in the Robertsbridge social media, as far as I can see. So good to hear positive vibes from villagers

 

Well that's a relief.
I went to Robertsbridge a few weeks back, visited the railway, stayed in a hotel there, ate a meal there. That's what it's about, isn't it?

I was pleasantly surprised by all the positive comments - it seems that a lot of locals were in support but kept quiet. There was one comment which was a bit negative about the A21 level crossing but other posters pointed out that the delay would be minimal.

 

Yex that is a bit of a surprise but I suspect the anti railway element are basically the landowners affected. Having lived in the village for 10 years we found it a strange place into which we were never really accepted.

70000 was good and the RVR put on a great show but whoever sent the Saphos corridor 1st to travel in made a big mistake; insufficient capacity and slow to load and unload

 

A negative comment has just appeared on facebook - but not from one of the "Usual Suspects".

I was surprised that they used a corridor 1st - it was very comfortable however - but the centre door was disabled. Not sure whether they have anything else planned between now and the full reopening. I just wonder whether there might be something when the get the first 2 level crossings installed but we will have to wait and see.

 

Since the Saphos MK1 set was out yesterday including a Statesman MK2, I suspect their wasn't any other MK1's available.

 

We travelled on the shuttle today. Well organised and a credit to the RVR. We shared our compartment with a couple from the village. They were complimentary but said that while there are still mxed feeelings in the village the attitude is improving.
