As I am booked on this tour I am very concerned that if my steam train morphs into an EMU at some stage, will it still have a diesel on the back?

 

On the other hand, it may remain steam and get to 100mph - who knows!?

 

Sooo, did Britannia make it down in one piece? Is it fit to run the Bressingham tour tomorrow?

 

Only if hauled by 35028 which I timed at 103 mph on December 12th 1966!

Getting reports Brit has failed at Forest Gate.

 

Greater Anglia reporting disruption due to 'plastic sheeting caught in the overhead wires' between Stratford and Romford.

 

On the move again, presumably the offending plastic has been removed.

 

It landed on the engine and had to be removed, saw men in high vis removing it from the loco.

 

Lucky enough to currently find Britannia in her stricken situation, now on the move, expecting heavy diesel assistance

 

It would need the current switched off.

 

Wow, 70000 is somewhat jinxed at the moment it seems... The shot of the crew seemingly fiddling with the motion at Clapham Junction was slightly worrying, and then the Forest Gate incident didn't bode well. Glad all is well with 70000 itself.

 

Those trees are moulding themseves neatly around the loading gauge!

 

Kudos to the crew for a quick turnaround, as they departed on the return leg only a couple of minutes later than originally planned. Great to see a 'Brit' at Norwich again, can't remember the last time 70000 or 70013 graced the rails here.

 

I see also that all those nonsensical various speed timings up to 100mph have disappeared from the RTT times!
