Oi, I posted my personal opinion about Jeremy Hosking and his involvement in the 'resurrection' of Blue Peter, I stand by what I said so I would be grateful if you would leave me out of what I consider to be an over-long rambling rant about the man.

An unnecessary comment and two others that referred to it have been removed.

I think you could have removed a few that have remained, especially as they're now out of context.

I've deleted the rectums one , it was unnecessary and a bit childish.
    Apologies.

I will have another word about Blue Peter and Jeremy Hosking.
With Blue Peter we now have a magnificent loco. out and about on the main line thanks to the generosity of railway enthusiast Jeremy Hosking ((and the workforce who have done the hammering and spannering). Ask yourselves, where would Blue Pater be now if it wasn't for that generosity? I'll tell you, it would be parked up somewhere growing rust. Separate the rail enthusiast from his politics and give a bit of credit where it's due. I say again, you don't have to like his business practices or his politics but as far as Blue Peter is concerned I say "Thank you Jeremy"

@Victor, @osprey. Much appreciated. Although we are not prudes on here, it's good to set a high bar for our comments and that allows us to pick off easily the one or two who really should behave themselves, as someone has discovered recently.

There's too much high quality discussion on here, (including at times some railway related stuff!) to allow the comment pool to be diluted.

    Thanks again.

Indeed the trainspotting world is a broad church and reflects how the UK should be. It doesn't workunless people accept their differences like in the past, all this conflict means a failed state as we saw recently. The Blue Peter restoration looks legendary and looking forward to a ride

Does anyone know when Blue Peter is rostered for an excursion? I note the Saphos brochure / website don’t give an indication of intended locos.

Saphos don’t, Steam Dreams give an indication on some trips which sort of allows you to work out what’s roughly doing what. Plus SNG Trust list their plans.

    SNG for the Fellsman tomorrow.

SD have 70000 listed for London to York on Nov 28th, Bath 30th Nov. 34046 for Dec 6th to Bath, and SNG for Dec 13th one way to Chester.

Southall based currently is 70000. Taunton based 61306. The rest at Crewe.

You’d have to imagine the 21st Sept Golden Arrow will be the Brit, 25th Golden Hind Mayflower.

Royal Scot has been out and about this year, but no idea whenor if the boiler ticket expires/expired (I don't know if it was reset when it wss being worked on around Covid time or not, but think it returned in 2015).

Steam Railway arrived yesterday and suggests that 71000 is due to move to the Severn Valley at the end of the month.

Similarly, where's 60007 these days? I don't see any main line outings for that?

Thanks, Harry, that’s helpful, thinking of dipping my toe in the Saphos Trains pool to give them a try and minded to go for some LNER main line haulage - my last was no.9 on its last southbound ecml run. Have been enjoying the Carnforth and Tyseley pools over the last few years but no LNER or BR Standards…
