    And I see no great determination for 35027 & 35022 at LSL either. I have more optimism for 35025 given it's with SLL.

    I understood that 35010 was being used as a background project to allow Riley's to keep staff employed & maintaining skills when they aren't working on the Black 5s?
    Did we get confirmation of where 5593 has ended up - also at 10A?

    Black 5s seem to be perfect all rounders for heritage and mainline operations.

    Merchant Navies less so, and the huge cost of restoring them can’t make them an attractive proposition from a business POV

    35010 is still at the Colne Valley. 35009 is the one at Riley's.

    Riley & Son do a lot of work for other loco owners and railways in addition to the work on Ian’s locos. The amount of “spare” time to work on 35009 must be very small.
    If Ian saw a real need for a Merchant Navy on the mainline, I’m sure he would be allocating paid staff to the task.
