A good few videos showed it on YouTube.
As of last weekend only the future support coach plus one of the brake carriges were on the points by the carriage shed.

Is it now fully finished? They need to get those coaches in asap.

I wonder which 10 coaches they will decide to put in there. We have one local hauled set running daily now with 5 mark 1s, I wonder if they will put the heritage coaches on the main set soon ?

Stop boards on both lines during the gala, so I assume more interior work still to do. Looks finished externally.
There is an image from March 11 on post #11399 before the Welfare Unit aka the Blue Container was removed. I have not taken one since other than this f the back end from a train on Sunday. DSC_0415.jpg

The steam daily set is now 4 mark 1s. With the second set (7 cars) now in the Bay platform in Swanage.

Do we know if the Easter Holiday service will be the steam set with the DMU or local hauled? If its local hauled then the DMU really doesnt have much of a use at the railway anymore

Well it is today and is there not a taster tomorrow, which was 4 on Monday. There seems to have been a lot of fresh air being carted around this week, )though never seen as few as six as was reported for one NYMR service) so seems logical to save the weight to me.

I would imagine our wonderful springtime weather is having an effect on passenger numbers with folk preferring the coast and it's scenery. <BJ>

I see that as from Saturday, it's a two -train service, one steam one diesel. Please does anyone know if the steam loso will be on he four-car set and which set, if any, the Devon Belle observaton car will be attached to? - or will the diesel service be the DMU? Also, is 4953 still rostered for the weekend and next Monday?

    Thanks

    Hi Gladiator
There are still crews rostered for tomorrow for the driver experience, there may not be a full complement of participants though; unless you have heard something from station house this morning?

As I posted above, there are 17 green timetable days from this Saturday to 21 April, 16 will be DMU with only Sunday 13 April being diesel hauled stock.

Yes it is planned that 4953 will be on the steam service over the weekend & BH Monday.

Looks like a 5 coach set to me for tomorrow as a coach was being added to the 4 in use on the taster today.

Hall sat in Swanage for a while, DMU in platform at Corfe. I am guessing a lineside fire?

I'm thinking of paying a visit on Monday specifically for a ride behind the Hall. I see that the forecast is for cooler conditions (Maximum 13 degrees, accoring to the Met Office) but still dry and sunny. Hopefully the railway will allow steam still to run in spite of the dry lineside, but if you (or any other forum member connected with the Swanage Railway) find out that this isn't the case, please could you post it on this thread? I will check probably at 6AM Monday morning. It's a 130 mile journey each way for me and although I have nothing against Cromptons, I don't want to get up really early, brave the awful A27, M27 and A31 only to find I'm greeted by 33111 and a DMU!

    Thanks

Certainly would not be 33111 as that is at Barrow Hill.
Trains were running again later (about 30 down or so) and I foolishly walked out over the common to Townsend thinking the walk would help my possible sciatica which flared up again today, how wrong I was. Hall was perhaps was being worked a little gently compared to normal.
Will post if I see or hear anything but may not be doing much tomorrow I fear.
