With the fire risk, I can understand very well why West Coast are being ultra carefull, at least steam is still able to run, and not been banned, As regards our feline friends, at times this whole forum can feel like herding cats, but I have the solution, by the name of Shadow, she loves chasing, and rounding up cats, so lets introduce a couple of sheep, or should that be cat dogs, into the feline thread, see how they get on, :D

Could it be 45212 or something else positioning ready for taking over the Great Britain leg to Norwich next day?
There is a corresponding 5Z40 move from Leicester L.I.P to Peterborough the next day timed to arrive shortly before the Great Britain.

Would make sense, though isn't it still in Cardiff?

Just checked RealTimeTrains there is another move on there for Cardiff to Leicester L.I.P so that could be 45212.
As I'm only 5 minutes away from the WCML I will monitor the path tomorrow and if activated pop down to the line.

Nobody has reported 45212 as running from Cardiff to Carnforth so it's probable that the Carnforth path will not be activated.

Can confirm 45212 remained at Cardiff after it ran the hot box. Photo of it on Facebook yesterday being lit up ready to go again.
