These trailers have sliding doors fitted, so presumably the CDL system is different to that fitted to slam-door stock.

Could WCRC buy a couple of Power Cars, and compete with LSL, on the land cruise market???

One would assume going to Carnforth to make use of the wheel lathe.... or stripping for parts.... or as suggested to park a bloody great big tank on LSL's HST lawn.... :D

I actually think acquiring an HST for the Northern belle, or as a second, luxury tour set, that can operate anywhere over NR, could make sense, it would enable West coast to expand that part of its market, unaffected by steam bans, and whilst it would look strange, if they can acquire a couple of Power cars with normal couplings, at least it would allow an air braked steam engine, to couple up,

The alternative is that they are overhauling/converting the stock for AN Other as part of their wider engineering operations, I do wonder whether we will see a gradual running down of the steam rail tour operating side of things after all the hassle re the Mk1's, and possibly with their coalface knowledge of what the cost of living crisis is doing to the market?

I don't follow. WCRC don't operate Scotsman and DB/Belmond will of course be using the pullmans?

But might WCR be contracted to convert/overhaul some stock for Belmond purposes.....

According to the info I've just seen on RTT.
Outward leg is 33mph max and return 20mph max.

This appears to be a problem on RTT with certain VSTP schedules. Railcam shows the correct speed.

Essentially the RTT speed needs to be multiplied by 2.25. So 33.33 becomes 75mph and 20 becomes 45mph.

I think you mean piloting as Tangmere is in steam and will be working however little that may be.

Come on Ralph. Clearly being dragged. Rods off, no sign of steam. Going in to NW Region where a ban on steam traffic is on.
