I’ve taken the TGG headboard out for its first steam loco trip this afternoon. Looks rather nice

For those who haven't managed to get a ticket and wanted one, this morning's announcement states that an extra 2,500 tickets will be released per day at 0900 BST Friday 27th June.

From the FB comments, 60103 will be onsite Friday, leave early Saturday morning (before site opens), returning with the Pullman rail tour around midday.

Tornado also confirmed but only for the Friday and Saturday. It seems it "has" to do it's booked railtour on the Sunday, surely can't they schedule another locomotive to take it's place on the railtour?

I'm just disappointed as I've got a ticket on Sunday and it looks like this A1, A2, A3 & A4 lineup will happen but I'm missing it. Oh well happy for those who will see it.

So all those that have booked on the Waverley and paid way more than a ticket for this do not matter.
Of course there are "so many locos" that are fitted for air braking where do you suggest the replacement magically appears from?

Sorry I didn't mean to come across like that, it's just disappointing from my point of view. Naturally it should go to where it was booked first to all those on the Waverley I'm happy for them that'll get to enjoy a wonderful locomotive over the S&C and I hope they enjoy themselves. Just a shame whatever loco booked to do the Cumbrian Mountain Express the day before couldn't do both trips.

There aren't any Saphos Rail tours over the weekend that Blue Peter would be the helm of, unless it's planned to swap with 5029 to do the English Rivera Express' in August which I doubt. But oddly Blue Peter has no mention in this announcement where Scotsman and Tornado were confirmed so maybe it's not going. Otherwise I'd have thought they'd announce it along with this announcement we got today. Time will tell.

Given the way the weather's going, I can see a replacement steam engine ceasing to be an issue

I know I'm not going, for reasons already expressed, but would it have hurt the promoters to have sorted the locos by class numbers to more easily see what will be there *

    * Yep I realise this a strong contender for the 2025 first world problem of the year award.
