How much longer has 45212 got left on its ticket? it can only be a few months I did hear end of the year, If it keeps on needing attention, might the decision be taken to retire it early for overhaul? thats going to leave West coast in a bit of a pickle loco wise,

 

I get your point about WCR being short of locos, but even if 45212 soldiers on, they are already there. They need at least 3 and more realistically 4 air-braked locos to fulfill all their commitments (not including the Jacobite).

 

That must be at least 3 in a month? I can recall one on a LE trip south, coming off at Rugby a few weeks back?

 

I wonder if it’s the same bearing each time?

 

Is 44871 the only steam loco that WCR's have for this weeks Royal Duchy? I have heard that there is a chronic loco shortage.

 

No cos 45212 was going to go to the west Highland line it was failed out on a light steam test run to Tebay on Tuesday.

 

So after 45212’s failure they have one available locomotive suitable for Sunday’s Royal Duchy?
