DMU was 2019. 2022 + 23 were steam hauled sets, which IIRC were reasonably loaded.

Ah, but were they profitable?~One would hope o, if they used an engine already in steam, with a volunteer crew, but who knows how the FD thinks?

Is the DINER not running either??? -- surely that is a break from tradition as well.

There was no diner last year due to the lack of available coaches to run the service. I wonder if the same issue persists given they are still working through the coaches impacted by the last heavy shunt.

I see there is no freight set out this year either.

I've found the evening trains to be very lightly loaded over the last couple of years, so not hugely shocked that there's an earlier finish this time around.

Photos in a Facebook group show that 78019 has arrived at New Bridge.

The 2 low loaders then took the Q6 t0 Darlington leaving about 14.30.

Such a pity that it couldn't have gone to Darlington with Tornado which left Grosmont about an hour earlier:(.

So, unless my aging eyes are failing worse than I thought, no sign of 92134.

It was mentioned in the General Discussion thread the other day that "92134 was in the back field, apparently with failed elements and a cracked chimney." and they were hoping to borrow some but time was running out. Assume unfortunately, time ran out?

EDIT: A reply to a comment regarding the 9F from the NYMR Facebook:
"We always say that the appearance of all locomotives is subject to completion of any required work. But, we are hoping to see the 9F at some point over the gala weekend. Keep an eye on the allocations, as we will update as soon as we are able."

Shame about 92134, was one of the reasons for booking, would have made a nice S&D double header with 34072. Interesting diesel substitution on 10.00 off Pickering Friday, a Class 88 apparently!

I'm hearing that the shuttle will only be 1/2 coaches. I understand there's a load limit with two of the visitors, especially the Baby Ivatt but this could lead to overcrowding.

My understanding is 1 coach on 08.30 from Grosmont tomorrow and then 3 coaches each end for the rest of the weekend.

first train of the day on a gala with one coach. What could go wrong?! Shades of when the SVR tried to run an auto coach at a spring gala one year ahead of the first mainline service from Kidderminster with Bluebell.
