I imagine that’s because 926 Repton only got back to Pickering today, it passed the station on the road transporter, tender following about 5 minutes later

I don’t know why it’s being replaced by the 9F but I’m guessing it’s principally because it’s not in BR livery. Apart from Lucie, every other loco is, including 5428, which has been specially repainted as 45428 for the gala. With polished buffers and smokebox door hinges it is now back in its 1967 condition.

Nice early impression yesterday at Pickering, where we saw the Class 2MT and 4MTT and at Larpool viaduct where we saw 45428 pass. Looking forward to the rest of the event!

You would have thought time would have been better spent sorting the blowing piston packings and steam heat leaks on the black 5's rather than doing a cosmetic job on 5428

As a guide for anyone in two minds about attending…… we had a great day yesterday, appeared to be well organised and coped well with the odd minor issue. Well worth attending!

Think we're on Plan C as 34072's currently still on depot, with 45428 taking it's first turn.

44806 now on timetable to work 1:50pm off Grosmont. Looks like 34072 has failed

Rumour suggests ashpan issues, but nothing official.

A great weekend as usual with lots of double headed action. A shame we couldn't get more solo runs with the baby Ivatt and 78019. Timekeeping was unusually good.
