So what happens to passengers booked from York?
I am booked from York and not had any contact from VT, if it is cancelled from York I hope any refund will include ticket price plus price of tickets to York to connect with it

I don't think the York idea is set in stone.
Can't really send out formal information when the situation on the ground is a bit dynamic.

Update from VT. Train will terminate at York, to allow passengers from the Midlands to make onward connections on the return and more importantly to keep VT staff within their working hours.
Refunds etc, will be sorted/discussed next week.

Vintage may choose out of goodwill to refund your travel to York, but all you had purchased from them, and hence if you like they had a contract to supply, you was for travel from York to Newcastle and back.

Why not go to York anyway to photograph it, as you usually do. That way you dont loose out on your fare and you'll have time to get to the footbridge near the turntable to photograph it turning.
    Just a suggestion.

If you have travel insurance that might cover some of the costs incurred that Vintage Trains aren’t responsible for.

Back in 1984 my brother and I were booked on a special, behind 60009 from Yotk to Marylebone.
This triples to use the credit note issued by the SLOA for a trip behind Leander from Carnforth to Shrewsbury.

Living in Lancaster we drove across to Leeds and took the train to York , this was to ensure we could get a train from King's Cross to Leeds in the evening.
As this well before mobile phones we arrived at York only to find that the excursion was cancelled, due to 60009 failing overnight.
We got another credit note from SLOA but I don't recall even asking SLOA for a refund on travel costs to get to York

Clun Castle waits to leave Derby. Hopefully the passengers in the rear of the train were Class 37 Fans ! 7029 Derby LR.jpg

Given the hiatus that VT was managing, I think that to get a message out at 9.30 was pretty decent timing. I imagine that there was no opportunity to hijack PA systems at York to explain the curtailment at York. Lucky that a reasonable alternative destination was available en route.

Anyone able to advise whether the 1 Nov diesel section planned to be 37240 or 47773 please .
Two potential bookings depending on which it is .
    Thanks
