That doesn’t look good at all.
Loco’s going to need a thorough examination for any distortion back along the frames etc.

It's not having the happiest return to traffic, is it?

Not the first prang the loco has had either. At least this one wasn't at the ELR again.

The loco has had an unplanned meeting with some buffers.

There were some pictures linked that Sheff was responding to - but it looks like they (as well as the ones in What’s Going On) have been removed by the moderation team.

why have they been removed? Its news, its a matter of public record, its on social media for all to see, no-one has commented on blame or cause on here, merely that its happened and provided a link to photos.

Indeed. it’s shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. Once it’s out on social media such as Facebook*, it will spread like wildfire. That’s how I found out about it.

It must not be discussed on this learned website as it is well known that anything written here is often quoted in legal cases. The photos apparently show that the locomotive's stopping point was a foot the wrong side of the stop blocks and these have been moved to the position of best fit!

Indeed, its strange how certain matters which are posted all over the web are not allowed to be discussed on here.... Assume someone has had a word....

FYI the pictures have been taken from a Network Rail National Operations Control log entry. The log is marked private and confidential within the railway group, OK so it's now all over social media, but we did not wish to get involved with this leak in the first instance.

Or maybe it's simply a responsible action taken independently and within the team. The difference between Nat Pres and, for example, Facebook is that nobody on Facebook seems to take responsibility for anything that appears. We do, and of course that will generate a response and divergent comment. Given that we are part of a heritage community, it really is best for those directly involved in anything out of the ordinary to be able to deal with it privately, don't you think?

As the person who initially railed the issue on here, I was absolutely not looking to stoke up speculation beyond hoping that all was ok, and that the damage was minimal. I deliberately didn't share the NR ops log, precisely because it was an internal document and not my place to share, only the photo I received that was not part of that log, at least on the version I obtained. Saying that, I'm happy to accept the removal of my posts, if that's what the Mod team feel is best
