Vintage Trains 2026

Unfortunately the Mogul will not be ready for 8th November and trip will be behind a Castle instead.

 

That's a shame, but these things are never certain til it's on the front of the train on the day! Look forward to hearing more about the inaugural tours in the spring.

Dear Passenger,

Despite the best efforts of Vintage Trains and the Severn Valley Railway the intended locomotive - Stanier Mogul no. 13268 will not be ready to haul The Worcester Shakespeare Express on the 8th November 2026.

We know some passengers booked specifically for the locomotive’s announced debut on this trip. We are sorry that it will not be available and understand the disappointment this change will cause.

If you booked after the announcement that the Stanier Mogul would haul the train, you can choose from the following two options:

*You can be fully refunded without penalty
*Keep your current booking and travel behind a Castle locomotive instead. We will also offer you 20% off either the inaugural or the second mainline journey hauled by the Mogul in spring 2027, with dates to be announced.

These two options apply to passengers who booked The Worcester Shakespeare Express from 5th August 2026. For those who booked prior to 5th August, your booking will continue as normal.

Should be a busy Darlington Station as Flying Scotsman will be there around the time that Tornado will be there, also Northern Belle around the same time
