She was stopped at Crewe with superheater problems.

    re 60009

Is 60009 fit for Fidays Scarborough Flyer or is 6201 deputising?

Am afraid 60009 wont be on this Fridays tour and 6201 will be taking her place.

That looks very unlikely that she will be attending the open day.

Strange she keeps failing but for this year she's been really reliable. Shame as this is the only British based A4 I've yet to see in completed form. Didn't Union just have it's boiler certificate extended.

60009 appears to be replaced by Cromwell for the RTC Hadrian tour on 12th September, according to UKsteam, which also has the tour as now heading north from Hellifield to Carlisle instead of up the ECML first.

We'd rather have the K4 back LOL!!!
It does seem that 60009 has had a bit if a bad run lately which is a shame as it has always been one of preservations working locos It is at that time in the boiler cert that engines generally start to get tired though so maybe that is playing a part. Whatever it is I am sure it is driving John mad and he will be on a mission to get it sorted.

There is a time when rumours need to be stopped by proper information.

I don't think we'll see No 9 on the main line anytime soon, regrettably; as she is one of my favourite locos, but if I was approaching seventy, I too might be thinking hard about the realism of another ten year overhaul, if that is what is seen as currently the best answer to her current situation, and not a band aid job.

Let's hope heritage stewardship takes priority over personal considerations and that work to keep her active is forthcoming.

Its a different thing contemplating the future at 69 than 29 and that's the difference between when No 9 left Aberdeen in the late 60s and now

Whilst I agree with you it would be nice to see 60009 back trust me the K4 would be more useful to the SVR hence my earlier comment. I meant that out of the Cameron pair the K4 would be the most useful for everyday running - personally I would welcome them both back!!!
