Tornado only requires one water stop between Kind Cross and York.

Has Tornado been passed for 90mph ? Judging by some of the timings for tomorrows trip to York she will need to be ! Grantham to York, 83 Miles in 73 minutes start to stop . No wonder its sold out ! Stevenage to Peterborough ,49 miles in 48 minutes sounds more realistic .
I will be at Offord to see her tear through the crossing . Anyone joining me ?

Tornado is a fine engine but, she will need to reach 75 very quickly and be lucky enough to have an unchecked approach to York . I hope your right Ralph .

Through Offord at 10.28 , bang on time . About a dozen people near the crossing but, weather overcast . Appeared to be running near her maximum speed .

Not easy with the slow start from the Grantham stop! Did it in 76 mins with signal checks into York. Not sure what the net time was but I would guess just outside that very tight 73 min schedule.

Plus Stevenage - Peterborough start to stop in just over 45 mins for 48.8 miles, schedule 48.

    Rebecca Jane,

I couldn't quite read that footnote to your posting. I think it's in pink, but the text is too small for me to read. Be a good lass would you and post it at a larger size we can all see would you?

Ran circa 81.5 miles from York to a signal stop North of Grantham in under 74 mins. Which to me sounds like it would have comfortably kept the 78 minutes schedule to the planned location for the stop.

Just heard the Torando pass on the North London Line at 10:45pm so running to time. See its not due into Grove Park until 12.20 so a very long day for all involved.

Would be curious to know Tornado,s maximum speed between Grantham and York yesterday if anyone can help . Would not be surprised to find she touched 80 like Oliver Cromwell did on the Hadrian last weekend near Thirsk .

Here's a short clip of 60163 as she glided North past Colton Jcn, 10 minutes South of York last Saturday as witnessed by around 50 people.
