Can anyone confirm whether this tour is going ahead or not, please? UKsteam.info shows it as running (last updated 21/09/09) but it's not listed on the Vintage Trains web-site, and there was a mention in another thread that it has been cancelled. I guess it was an alternative to The Blackpool Illuminator on the same day and The City Of St Albans two weeks ago, both of which were cancelled.

I spoke to someone who was booked on it and they've had a letter from Vintage Trains saying it was cancelled.

Maybe those passengers who'd booked to see Blackpool Illuminations didn't fancy going to Watford instead.

VT were saying people could go on the service train into london,no idea whether tickets were included/valid.

Hopefully it will run next year?

Think the thinking behind that one was to hop on the branch to St Albans when the run down the MML coulden't be done, certainly Watford has all the appeal of a local scrapyard.

What about a beautiful Abbey and the superb Roman remains of Verulanium.
