I went to see Tangmere this evening at Saltford. I thought it would follow the 16:30 Paddington bound HST but that must have been running late. Tangmere was spot on time leaving Bristol and what a wonderful sight it made. Thankfully no diesel cock ups today!! <BJ>

Nice light on the other side of the bend at Claverton and you got the balloon. The light was not quite as good by the pumping station. I think I made the wrong call this evening...grr.

From previous visits to the Claverton/Avon valley area, most steam charters seem to shut off just before Claverton and gradually slow for a speed restriction at Dundas aquaduct. On the outward leg I was at Fisherman's Crossing and noticed that Tangmere had already shut off for the restriction. Shortly afterwards I could here the loco acccelerate towards Bathampton Jct. Did anyone notice this yesterday? <BJ>
