Use of the wheeldrop for one thing as Stewarts Lane has not got one.

Anyone know what time she is coming? I finish work earlier today and might have a chance of seeing her on the way down.

Old news for some of us. One big question is once the work is done on her front truck will she work any service trains?

Doubtful, although it would be a bonus and a crowd puller if it did.

supposedly arriving tonight around 11ish, very unlikely to haul any service trains given that 35028's policy regarding not operating preserved lines

Clan Line is having some rivets replaced in the bogie.
Stewarts Lane doesn't have a wheeldrop that can handle a Bulleid bogie OR facilites for rivetting.

Presumably 35028 will have to undergo some test runs to check if repairs are successful...

Beat me to it Mr Stevens ! Well for those that might not want to go to and look I have put two of them on here . The loco was still simmering away with the added sounds of air valves clicking underneath ! She sounds more like a Class 47 shut down than a Merchant Navy .Also of interest is they ALWAYS take her whistle off when not running . Just good to see it there and I hope that it will return to do a few runs one day.
I fear she will end her days on the Bluebell however such is the world of preservation.

You make it sound like a bad thing!

I'm sure the MNLPS will keep 35028 on the main line for as long as funds, legislation and available people permit it.

    Regards,

    Dan

Chris its all previous history .Just look back at who and what was at Longmoor when it was first set up, 34023 and 35028.
You never know she may visit lines from her base ,However she has been so well looked after and cared for the Bluebell is logical .They afterall Polish locos there and dont use oil and parafin aka Ropley ! ;-P.
However that will be some years off I hope .Long may she continue on the VSOE.And the occasional visit to Ropley who knows.

Thanks David, I now seem to recall the late Chris Bitton telling me the same thing, and going back even further David Wigley at the Bluebell saing exactly that.
