Our tickets came Saturday too. Looks an interesting journey. We 'chased' the one in March from Penistone to Stocksmoor to Brighouse.

Half page advert for it in Metro today. Presumably it's not full yet.

Might go out to Barnsley to see it,is there anywhere on the bank decent to see it within walking distance of the station? I seem to remember a footbridge?

There's also 2 road bridges over the line lower down the bank. Not sure about a decent photo on them though. The locos last time were working harder passing under these. There on the curve. 45407 slipped between the two.

I think that they Should Make this a Monthly Excursion on Sundays in the New Year. and They Should call it "The Tin Bath Express" instead of Extra.

They may struggle to fill it month in month out. It needs advertising locally. If you dont read rail magazines or visit forums like this how would you know about it ?
Hoping to meet up with you George on Sunday. We will be on 9.00am train from Meadowhall if all goes to plan !

Yeah, noticed those on the map,i was just thinking that there would be a lot of traffic noise with the possibilty of the local chav's playing with the horn! Then again there will probably be kids screaming on the bridge so its a no win situation in effect, the sun will be on the left of the train if it is out?

Not sure about the sun. If you look at Ralphs video on Utube of the last Tin Bath you will get some idea of the surroundings of the climb and the bridges. The footbridge looked crowded!
All the bridges are within walking distance of the station.

This film was taken from the footbridge.

To those of you who have now received your tickets: do the times you've been given match the "provisional times" on RTC's web-site?

    Manchester Victoria 11:00
    Stockport 11:45
    Hathersage 12:25
    Sheffield 13:50
    Huddersfield 16:00
    Bolton 18:30
    Manchester Victoria 18:55

Does anyone have more detailed timings? UKsteam.info does not, yet.

    TIA

Looks like water at Sheffield and Blackburn. I'm just trying to work out if it will be dark at Blackburn if not shortly after.

If they are going to water at Blackburn it will have to be a quick job, 38 minutes stop, going to be difficult unless the train pulls straight into the loop and the passengers stay aboard.
