Is anyone travelling on this tour? I'm planning to be on a fellside somewhere with my video camera, and getting slightly anxious that neither UKsteam.info nor Vintage Trains have any times available yet. I hope it's not been cancelled...

Can anyone tell me some timings for this tour, please?

Looks like being a nice weekend, and the combination of Leander on Saturday and the two Black 5s on Sunday makes it worth making a weekend of it.

    TIA

Similar to the Fellsman then going northbound but a bit different south due to Saturday trains on the S&C being different times. Not difficult to work out.
No doubt someone will post the actual times somewhere at some point!
As to nothing on uksteam.info; much as we appreciate his dedication, I think we should allow David to have a holiday now and then, don't you?

    Thanks David!
I note that it's very close behind the service train (10:44 Settle). If it's sharp off Hellifield a check at Settle Jc. could be a strong possibility. Should be Ok after that as the service train is next stop Kirkby Stephen.

And, yes, I did realise after I'd posted above that it was going south over Shap!

The footplate crew will be aware of the service train running close in front and will not rush to leave Hellifield.
Last weekend on the Royal Scot, although we were a few minutes down leaving Crewe, Bill made no effort to rush as we were on the slow to Winsford. On the way two service trains went past and as we approached the end of the slow, we got the green and did not need to stop. Had he rushed we would have ended up sitting at a red for several minutes..

Well, nothing too spectacular from me, I was on a day visit to Carlisle Station with friends so managed to grab a few shots of Leander arriving and departing. Have to say, England was a lot sunnier and warmer than Scotland yesterday!

LMS Jubilee No. 5690 "Leander" arrives at Carlisle :

The Stanier Jubilee makes a storming departure from Platform 4 :

If anybody is interested, there's also a lot of other photos up there, including the Class 56 railtour from Shrewsbury in Carlisle, and the diverted NatEx HST's.
