A wave from your Dads colleague and Hubby

Dont forget the stop at stocksmoor. There is a road overbridge near the station to get a hose from tanker to tender? Has a 49 minute stop here and that would make Blackburn more of a splash and dash!
Thinking of Penistone and a differant spot in Sowerby Bridge itself. Short but sweet, was where i used to stand and watch the Red Bank vans heading west as a nippper.
    Nearly always a double header.
    regards,
    John.

eeeee, memories of the Double headed Scotswood-Red Bank empties, flying past after school. Wish I had owned a Camera then, almost anything seems to appear on it.

Good old days! One day technology will allow these images to be copied from your internal memory. Could have quite a few drawbacks too....... Lol

I see from the times on uk steam for this tour, that there is a LE move for 45231 from MV. to Barrow Hill. Anyone know how long the 5 is staying there at BH or if its leaving for elsewhere later in the week, thanks

Cant think of another route to Sheffield only via Hope Valley, The Huddersfield way gets complicated after Huddersfield where would it go? Wakefield, Dearne Valley, Masbrough Jct ? Trains cant get on the Penistone line from Man Vic only by reversing, so there may be a stop over somewhere between Man Vic and Barrow Hill via Hope Valley.

45407 + 45231 T+T 47760 dep Carnforth 1950 Sat with Tin Bath ECS to Preston.

I did not know of the move, and could only manage this horribly cramped shot of them waiting to leave Carnforth:

The other way was as you say Huddersfield,Wakefield,Hare Park Jn(that is why i ask),Moorthorpe,Masborough,BH.

Although i think the former is more likely, having said that they do regularly come this way when going towards Barrow Hill
    Cheers,
    Mark

    Lovely shots chaps.

Heres my video of the mighty 5's getting underway up the fearsome Miles Platting. They shot up, with in my opinion Mr Rileys' machine doing the lions share and sounding incredible with 13 on !

I know this shots been done to death recently but its an awsome place to watch steam locomotives being worked hard. I was going to chop the bit where they disappeared behind the trees out, but it sounded so good i couldn't do it !!
