What a fantastic day out in Coach C. Hope to get some links to stills later as on-board vid shoots are bit poor on the angle.
However thanks to everyone for posting pics and vids to complete the picture for me of how the day looked from the lineside. What a popular pairing, so many people were lining just about all the route.

It is apparent, that a 185 went through at 16:08 and the steam at 16:13 (on platform for the 185),you thought it would be "Ok to go on track now that's gone past?"

technically he's not on the track (without wishing to split hairs) unless i'm missing something

Out of interest which is the more dangerous position . on the platform but close to the edge with your back to oncoming trains or where he apparently may be

Ok,its all alright, everyone go off the platform ends! It's not trespassing,it is perfectly acceptable, you must however, stand behind the yellow line at all times!

He went off the end, what part of a sign saying "Passengers Must not pass this point" is difficult to understand?

  13. is it possible that there just isnt a headboard for this it could of been worse you could of had the Riley international rescue or the cotton mill headboards

@ Neil Dimmer - this shows the wisdom of being more selective over what you choose to publish. ;-)

@ Alberta and the rest of you who take delight in prodding this this poor sap again and again - give it a rest, won't you? You sound like 10-year-old children teasing the fat one with glasses. Not edifying.

Now, can we return to the matter of The Tin Bath Extra, please?

I see we have the usual selection of moronic posts regarding Neil and other issues. Along with others I've taken the mick out of his pics but now realise that it wasn't very clever. Descending to the level of personal insults is pathetic and I'm surprised the mods allow this to happen. As for the headboard, it was being delivered to a well known Hathersage resident for safekeeping until next year's Jacobite season. I suspect it was only an issue for a few sad souls on the lineside so tough luck really. Didn't bother me as I was so high above the line at Cowburn I couldn't read what it said.

Edit : Just been told that the custodian of the headboard didn't reclaim it at Hathersage and it stayed on the front a bit longer.

The Stanier twins hurry up the last few yards to Cowburn Tunnel. With apologies to those who found the Jacobite headboard so outrageous.

I don't think anyones arguing that it isn't really a position of a danger and a decent distance from the track, a lot of us know from linesiding at Preserved Railways that he's in no real danger, the problem is that NR still view it as trespassing and will accordingly take a dim view.
