It is mentioned on Twitter that there is NO possability of trains passing at Hampton Loade, a reduced service will be in operation for Half Term week.

An educated guess would be that the King would only be operating weekends as technically this is a stabling visit between railtours, not an operating one. I would also be fairly confident that 6024 will operate out of Bridgnorth as Tornado is out of Kidderminster, this is how big engine events on the SVR have operated in the past. I'm sure someone closer to the railway will say whether my guesswork is correct or whether the lack of loop at Hampton Loade has affected the advertised times or operating arrangements. Certainly the official leaflet for this event and advertised times will be void if the loop isn't reinstated before then, which looks highly unlikely..

both KE1 and Tornado are planned to be off bewdley so i understand with possibly the n2 off bridgnorth. i think the only day 6024 is running is the 15th Nov because its hauling the SVR limited. 6024 arrives on monday and goes straight to bewdley, tornado arrives on thurs and then does a gauging run not sure when or times of this though

If this is the case then it's a bit of an odd development as an official SVR Statement has them as running together.. I hope it is still correct as I intended to catch them both! The following statement was reproduced on the SVR Online forum and is from an official SVR press release on 29th Sept about the event..

"The visit by ‘Tornado’ which is due to arrive on the SVR on Thursday 22nd October, steals some of the limelight from another iconic locomotive which will be visiting the railway - GWR King’ 4-6-0 No. 6024 King Edward I - which is also diagrammed to work half-term holiday trains."

Whilst I am excited about Tornado, the visit of 6024 was the icing on the cake and it would be very strange of the SVR not to take advantage of the coinciding visits...the 15th November is after Tornado's stint. Unless of course 6024 has booked maintenance?

For those who want to read the full press release which provides full details of the visit it is halfway down the page here.. http://forum.svra.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1055&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=90

Not as far as i know the king is running sweet at moment it could be something to do with problems on the north end of the line, will be up there at some point to clean the old girl ,
and must just look forward to the 15th nov. but things can change
enjoy your trip on the seven valley be it behind the king or tornado every one.

Seems a bit odd to have 6024 there for a month and only run it one day?

Any further updates on whether 6024 is running Saturday? Reports indicate it could be running all week to maybe just one day-either way it'l be based out of Kidderminster, N2 1744 is running Bridgnorth services.

The N2 is working the 10.30 and 1.40 departures from Kidderminster all week.

I will be avoiding the scrummage for the Tornado trains, and as mentioned above looking to ride behind the GNR N2 tank next week, on the 10-30 out of Kidderminster ( except on the first Saturday apparently, when the first working will be a home fleet engine.)

I just feel I will hear the N2 working a little harder than the "big 'un" !

Good luck if you are on the Tornado 11-00 out of Kidderminster....

Just a point of order by the way, travelling behind Tornado will be a full-line fare, even if you are not travelling the full journey. No part fares, ie short journey returns, singles etc. Your full line fare does however allow unlimited travel on the day.

You are quite correct, misread what was posted on SVR forum. The N2 is currently based at Bridgnorth and will therefore not work the 10.30 from Kidderminster on Saturday. A home based loco will work it to Bridgnorth where the N2 will take over and remain on the diagram for the rest of the week.

I have read that Tornado will face Bridgnorth until the 27th October and will then face Kidderminster from the 28th-1st November. Is this correct?
