I will be there and looking forward to it.

Nothing like seeing and hearing (often with an echo) the coal trains pound up that bank.
A shame that locomotion No.1 is staying in the yard and not attempting the bank

Can I just try and encourage people to visit. If you dont come it might not be repeated, the Bowes runs steam infrequently enough as it is. To my shame I havent made many previous events.

For photographers there are great views of coal trains climbing the bank and rounding the curve/embankment at the top. For those who like to ride its hard to beat a trip in a breakvan up the climb with locos working really hard.

    Regards,

    Ben

Yes I am an active volunteer
Bowes is a cracking line and well worthy of support . I've had a number of visits in the past which have all been very enjoyable . Sadly can't make it this weekend due to family commitments

Must get back up there soon - last time I went I was blown away by the rope haulage equipment, and I live in hope that someday wagons will roll back past Blackhams Hill.

Looks like a great event - some lovely weather and some interesting lighting on the night shoot. Haven't been to Bowes for a couple of years now so will try to get there for an event next year.
